Phased Reopening of iFitness Services

Updated: May 31, 2020

COVID-19 - Update 31/05/2020

Dear All, I want to share with you my plans for a 3-Phased reopening of iFitness services over the coming months. Despite wide-spread speculation about the reopening of the health and fitness industry in July, the exact timeline for reopening gyms and leisure centres has not yet been confirmed. I want to reassure you that I am closely monitoring this situation through UKactive, a fitness trade body.

In the meantime, I do have some good news for you. From Wednesday 13th May, The UK government gave the the go-ahead for one-to-one Personal Training outdoors, as part of the first stage of plans to ease COVID-19 lockdown measures. Phase 1 commences from Tuesday 2nd June and will focus on providing fresh air Personal Training for individuals over the coming months. Activities include, but are not limited to Outdoor Personal Training, Running and Sports Coaching. I will be working from two private outdoor venues in Falmouth and Mawnan Smith, while I can also come to client’s gardens keeping to social distancing guidelines.

The reopening of The Riverside Fitness Suite will form Phase 2 of my reopening plan. This will see the reopening a limited number of services for one to one and couples training, on selected days. Exact dates will be confirmed nearer the time when things become clearer.

I will move into final phase of reopening, Phase 3 and the full reopening of The Riverside Fitness Suite when I am confident that I meet all the requirements set out in the ukactive reopening framework for the return of group fitness programmes. Sessions will be limited to maximum of 4 personal per session in addition to one to one and couples Fitness Sessions. I am expecting to have reached this phase of reopening by early/mid September 2020.

Giving myself this additional time gives me a chance to develop, apply and complete a number of changes as per the recommended framework from ukactive for reopening the fitness and leisure sector safely, that will comply with social distancing measures and keep you safe.

The health and fitness industry will have a vital role in ensuring the ongoing health and wellbeing of the nation following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. I believe this role has never been more important than at the current time in helping the country and British society regain its health.

I Look forward to seeing you all again soon,

Steve
